About Julius
I am an accordionist with an active international performing career. Over the past years, I have appeared at venues such as MÜPA Budapest, the Wiener Konzerthaus, Konserthuset Stockholm, Philharmonie Luxembourg, and L’Auditori Barcelona, and have been invited to festivals including the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Klavier-Festival Ruhr, Heidelberger Frühling, and Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker. Many of these performances have been broadcast on national and international radio. Alongside this work, I have collaborated with composers from several countries and premiered new acoustic and electroacoustic pieces written for me. Chamber music is also a central part of my activity, with regular performances across Europe and North America. I studied at institutions including the Folkwang University of the Arts, the Royal Danish Academy of Music, and the Université de Montréal, where I completed my Master’s degree with distinction. These experiences, combined with my performing life, shape the way I teach and allow me to offer students a perspective grounded in both strong training and real concert experience.

My goal as a teacher is to bring out the maximum potential in every student and help each person grow into a confident, versatile musician. My experience as an active concert artist shapes the way I teach: I pay close attention to musical detail, style, and sound, and I encourage students to think like performers from the very beginning. Repertoire and style are always chosen with the student in mind. Whether someone wants to focus on classical works, contemporary music, folk traditions, or experiment with new sounds, I adapt the material and approach to their interests and ambitions. Working this way allows students to stay motivated while also developing flexibility and a broader musical perspective. At the centre of my teaching is a strong technical foundation—bellows control, articulation, coordination, phrasing, and sound production. Technique is treated as a practical tool that frees students to express themselves with clarity and ease. A typical lesson includes focused technical work, in-depth exploration of repertoire, and personalized practice strategies that help students progress between lessons. I tailor my methods to each person’s level and learning style, aiming to challenge, support, and inspire them. Ultimately, I want students to build reliable technique, thoughtful musicianship, and the confidence to explore the full expressive range of the accordion.
