About Shakeel
Hi, I’m Shakeel! I’m a South African dancer, choreographer and dance teacher based in Thailand, with 13 years of dance experience and 10 years of teaching. Hip-hop is my foundation, and I specialize in popping and open styles choreography, with additional training in breaking, contemporary and lyrical dance.
My journey includes representing South Africa at Hip Hop International, receiving South African national colors and placing in the Top 16 in popping. I also performed with Street Stylers, achieving third place on South Africa’s Got Talent, and worked with Elevation Dance Company. My international training includes workshops with dancers and crews such as Brian Puspos, Ian Eastwood, Super Cr3w and Kinjaz.
What I enjoy most is helping someone discover what they’re capable of. I bring patience, clear explanations and constructive feedback to my teaching, creating a welcoming space where you can ask questions, practice and grow. Whether you’re taking your first steps or developing your own style, I’ll take your goals seriously and support your progress.

My lessons help you build confidence, understand your movement and develop your own style. I teach hip-hop foundations, popping, body control, musicality, freestyle and choreography, breaking each movement into clear steps and adapting the pace to you.
A typical lesson starts with a warm-up, followed by focused technique practice. We then apply what you’ve learned through a short routine or freestyle exercise, finishing with feedback and something practical to work on before our next session.
With 13 years of dance experience and 10 years of teaching, I bring international training, competition experience and a patient, analytical approach. I explain how movements work, demonstrate them slowly and help you connect them to the music.
My online lessons welcome beginners, returning dancers and experienced dancers looking to refine their skills. Whether you want to feel comfortable dancing socially, learn choreography or improve your performance, we’ll build lessons around your goals.
