Renewable energy projects: More than 5 years of experience working on renewable energy projects (wind and solar)
In depth experience in the energy sector including conventional and renewable energy as well as a sound experience in the electricity industry at project level (EU "Sustainable Energy for all" (SE4ALL) initiative" in Liberia, UNDP Energy sector review and change management in the Seychelles, Technical Assistance for the implementation of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency including capacity building project in Zanzibar, etc.);
More than 10 years' senior experience in change management and institutional development, human resource management, contract management, financial and risk management and tariff restructuring proposals working with power utilities in Africa such as Eskom, the large South African power utility involved training, change management and sector policy reform and planning; retail sales and customer service. Also worked in Nigeria for 5 years involved in the revenue cycle management and the establishment of private Distribution Companies (Disco's) through institutional change and building capacity to ensure sustainability;
15 years' experience in institutional development and providing capacity building in the Energy Sector in developing countries (Institutional development through implementing change management programmes and Promoting energy access, Energy Efficiency (EE), Renewable Energy (RE) and Rural Electrification in Liberia, Institutional Development and Capacity Building project in Mozambique, etc.);
Long experience in sector review and strategic planning related to the energy sector: planning of RE options for the electrification, planning of the electricity supply industry; electricity utility planning, development of long-term energy policy strategies, etc.;
Proved experience in developing key performance indicators in the Distribution and Retail Sectors to improve performance according to agreed targets and signed performance agreements. Ensure Quality assurance through identifying the reasons for loss of revenue and poor customer service by identifying the type of risks, analysing Loss of Revenue Factors, Quality Assurance Overview, Evaluation, Planning, Implementation, Control and measure, Corrective action and Consumer Benefits;
Considerable experience in network strengthening and stakeholders' communication including liaison with local businesses on investment in the development of local Governments and investment in basic service delivery in the electricity sector; Excellent communication skills and the ability to create a climate of trust between the donor (s) and the beneficiaries;
More than 18 years' experience in negotiation and dealing with national- as well as local government officials in strengthening social structures to ensure sustainability in utility sectors;
Three years' experience in dealing with Regulatory Authorities in the energy sector;
Very good knowledge of international donor's guidelines and procedures, working experience with EC, World Bank, UNDP, CIDA, etc.;
Excellent leadership skills proved in 6 projects. Great ability to manage international and multi-cultural teams;
Good experience in strategic planning, operation management, financial analysis and databases development;
Proved experience in development of technical specifications and preparation of ToRs; Presentations to Technical and Steering Committees for approval and signing off on the desired activities according to the Terms of Reference;
Excellent experience in drafting inception, progress and final closing reports;
More than 20 years' experience working in developing countries with specific underdeveloped energy sector governance (Nigeria, Liberia, Zanzibar, South Africa, etc.);
