About Tilly
I’m Tilly, a bilingual tutor and Baccalauréat Français International (BFI) graduate with over three years of hands-on teaching experience. Having gone through intensive, high-level coursework in literature, humanities, and geopolitics, I know how to make language learning structured, effective, and zero-stress. I’ve taught everyone from young kids building early phonics confidence to students polishing high school essays and adults mastering natural, everyday English or French. Currently on a gap year traveling across East and Southeast Asia, I bring an open, real-world perspective to every session. Hi, I’m Tilly! I’m a native bilingual English and French tutor with three years of experience teaching young children, guiding middle and high school students through essay writing and academic subjects, and coaching adults in conversational fluency. I recently graduated with the Baccalauréat Français International (BFI), which provided me with intensive training in humanities, literature, philosophy, and geopolitics across both languages.
My teaching methodology is student-centered, highly interactive, and zero-stress. I focus on maximizing your speaking time to build natural confidence. I use playful games, phonics, and visual aids for young learners, while leveraging structured textual analysis, outlines, and targeted prompts for older students and adults.
Warm-Up (5 mins): Light, casual catch-up or vocabulary warm-up to get comfortable speaking.
Core Focus (30 mins): Target a specific goal—whether that's working through an essay outline, reviewing key grammar concepts, or diving into topic-based conversational practice.
Wrap-Up & Feedback (5 mins): Recapping new vocabulary, reviewing natural pronunciation tweaks, and setting light, optional goals for next time.
Bilingual Academic Background: Thanks to my BFI background, I don't just teach vocabulary; I help you structure logical arguments and express complex ideas clearly in both English and French.
