About Oran
I’m a Trinity College Dublin Physiotherapy undergraduate, former H1 PE student, and was selected by my teacher Brian Gregan to correct LCPE tests and mock exams at the Institute of Education.
Having achieved a H1 in LCPE myself and now correcting students’ work for a year, I understand the subject from both sides of the exam. I know what it takes to achieve a top grade, and what examiners are looking for in students’ answers.
The LCPE syllabus can often be painfully vague, leaving students unsure of exactly what is needed. Students can know the content well, but still struggle to apply it correctly to individual questions and maximise their marks.
While studying for my own PE exam, I mastered the exam format and learned how to give examiners exactly what they are looking for. I want to share this knowledge and help other students achieve the same success.
My physiotherapy degree also gives me a strong understanding of human performance, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and exercise science, which I can bring into both the theoretical and practical elements of LCPE.

My lessons are focused on making LCPE clearer, more manageable and exam-focused. I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs, where they are in the course, and what they are currently struggling with.
I have a strong understanding of the size and content of the course, so I can ensure students have covered everything thoroughly before the final exam. Lessons can involve explaining difficult topics, working through exam questions, or using H1-level sample answers to show exactly what is required.
A major part of my lessons is 1-to-1 feedback. I’ll go through your answers, explain where marks are gained or lost, and show you how to improve them rather than simply giving you answers to memorise.
We can also work on exam technique, including how to approach different question types and structure answers effectively.
I can also assist with the practical elements of LCPE, drawing on my experience with the projects and my background in physiotherapy, human performance, movement and exercise.

Oran's help for the Irish Oral was very helpful, and I went from a H5 in mocks to H2.
Oran helped me with LCPE privately last year, his experience correcting full exam papers and his in depth understanding of the projects and curriculum is definitely a huge part of the reason I was able to get a H1 and get my first CAO choice. With his help I understood what the examiners are looking for in all exam question types. I would definitely recommend him for anyone going for a H1.
Oran gave my son Irish grinds for his Leaving Cert exams in June. I was so pleased with his results. H1 in his exam and 99% in his oral with Oran's guidance.
