About Gabriel

Hi, I'm Gabriel. Most guitar players spend years in what I'd call copy mode — learning tab, repeating riffs, reproducing exactly what someone else already played. There's nothing wrong with that; it's the doorway. But it's only the doorway. What genuinely lights me up as a teacher is the moment a student stops merely *playing* music and starts *making* it: improvising a line that's theirs, reshaping a song to fit them, writing something that didn't exist the day before.

I've been playing for years, and the reason it's never gone stale is that there's always something new to create. That sense of possibility is what I most want to hand to my students — not just how to play the guitar, but how to make it your own.

And I believe this with real conviction: creativity isn't a rare gift a few people are born with. It's a muscle, and anyone can build it — given encouragement, and a solid foundation to build on. So I'm patient, I don't judge, and I'm just as glad to guide a first-timer as to help an experienced player break out of copy mode and find their own sound. If you've ever felt stuck reproducing other people's music and wondered how to start making your own, that's exactly what I love to teach.

About the lesson

Every good course of lessons starts with a conversation, so I'll want to know what you're really after — the music that moves you, whether you're here to play for fun, to reach a specific goal, or to start making things of your own. There are no wrong answers; I just want the path we take to lead somewhere you genuinely want to go.

We'll absolutely learn real songs, because that's how you gather your raw materials — but as we do, I'll pull back the curtain on *why* they work: how the parts fit together, why certain sounds feel the way they do, how players build their ideas in the first place. That understanding is what turns the fretboard from something you memorize into something you can genuinely play *with*. Strong technique and a good ear come along too, not as ends in themselves but because they're what set your imagination free.

From there we open up the creative side: improvising over a groove, putting your own spin on a familiar tune, and, if it calls to you, writing music of your own. I'll be honest about what needs work, but always kindly, and always with a clear, doable next step. And I'll keep tying everything back to music you actually care about, so it never drifts from the reason you picked up the guitar.

Progress comes from small, steady, encouraging steps rather than heroic bursts, and it's deeply satisfying to watch it build. So we'll keep it enjoyable, celebrate the wins, and move at your pace. Wherever you're starting, my goal is the same: to help you find a voice on the instrument that's unmistakably yours.
