I teach guitar with an emphasis on ear training and musical understanding. Students work on melodic dictation, interval recognition, and transcribing songs. Lessons include hearing chords, solos, and riffs and reproducing them on the instrument. The Campfire Strummer and Blues Seeker receive exercises designed for practical listening skill development. I integrate theory with hands-on playing to reinforce learning. Students develop accuracy, pitch recognition, and improvisational ability. Lessons progress gradually to challenge and expand their ear. I encourage active listening and repeated practice outside class. Feedback is immediate and constructive, ensuring steady improvement. Students learn to play melodies and progressions directly from listening. Ear training becomes a foundation for confident, creative playing. By the end, learners can understand and perform music intuitively. Music becomes both skill and expression.
