About Eliana
I became fascinated with violin ergonomics after watching a close friend develop a serious shoulder injury caused by years of poorly guided practice habits that went unnoticed for far too long. That experience pushed me to study body mechanics and injury prevention deeply alongside standard performance technique so I could genuinely protect the students who trust me with their physical well-being. My teaching background blends musical training with practical knowledge more commonly found among physical therapists and movement specialists. I take physical safety seriously in every single lesson because I believe no short-term performance goal is worth risking a student's long-term physical health. Students who work with me often mention feeling more aware of their own posture and tension than they ever did in previous lessons elsewhere. Eight years into this specialized focus, I remain genuinely passionate about making sure violin stays something people can enjoy safely for their entire lives rather than something that quietly causes them harm.

My teaching centers on protecting physical health as the true foundation for violin technique rather than treating posture and body alignment as a minor afterthought. Every lesson opens with checking shoulder rest fit neck tension and bow arm alignment because I have seen how small physical misalignments quietly cause real strain and injury over years of practice. I teach students to recognize early warning signs of shoulder or wrist fatigue and build practice habits that prevent repetitive strain problems long before they become serious enough to require rest. Technical exercises are introduced gradually with careful attention to relaxed motion rather than pushing for speed or intensity before the body is genuinely ready for it. I discourage practicing through pain or tension during lessons and instead use those moments to teach students how to listen to their own body signals. Stretching and simple release exercises bookend longer practice sessions because I believe recovery is just as much a part of sustainable technique as the playing itself. My ultimate goal is giving students a technique that protects their bodies for decades of enjoyable playing rather than one that risks long term physical harm.
