About Himanshu
Namaste, I’m Himanshu Kanekar—flute artist, singer, and multi-instrumentalist with a deep-rooted love for Indian classical music. My journey with the bansuri spans over a decade, blending tradition with personal expression. I specialize in teaching soulful Bandishes, melodic improvisation, and the art of riyaz with a nurturing, feedback-driven approach.
Whether you're a beginner seeking your first note or an advanced player refining your phrasing, I offer personalized guidance that’s both technically sound and emotionally resonant.

My bansuri classes are rooted in Indian classical traditions, each session is tailored to the student’s level—whether you're just beginning or refining advanced phrasing and improvisation.
We explore:
- Correct postures and position for fingers
- Breath control, tone development, pitch and ear training
- Understanding bansuri techniques
- Rhythmic understanding and composition basics
- Raga-based learning with Bandishes and alaaps
- Live online sessions with personalized feedback, recordings and notes
I teach with warmth, clarity, and a deep respect for the instrument’s spiritual essence. My goal is not just to train flutists—but to help each student find their own musical voice.
