About Mariya

Hi! I am Mariya, an incoming first-year Law Student at the London School of Economics, and am tutoring A-Level Economics, GCSE & A-Level History and helping students write their perfect UCAS personal statement. I have over four years of tutoring experience by working at my local tuition centre, in which I worked closely with students and their parents to both address weak areas in their learning and to boost their confidence to achieve top results. This experience has equipped me with the skills needed to understand a student's individual needs and to formulate revision strategies that will provide them with a well-rounded understanding of their studies. This has also allowed me to understand the attributes that top universities are looking for when reading personal statements, enabling me to help curate unique and convincing statements that receive offers from prestigious academic institutions.

About the lesson

Hi! I am Mariya, an incoming first-year Law Student at the London School of Economics, and am tutoring A-Level Economics, GCSE & A-Level History and helping students write their perfect UCAS personal statement. Being the first in my immediate family to attend undergraduate university in the UK initially made writing the perfect personal statement to apply to top universities daunting, however, after receiving offers from prestigious institutions such as the LSE, King's College London, University of Bristol and the University of Nottingham for LLB Law, I would like to provide a service that ensured that other students would not face the same struggle. My deep understanding of the university admissions process, especially in regards to humanities and social science subjects, has enabled me to understand what admissions tutors from top universities are looking for when giving offers. My sessions will provide not only advice on which supercurriculars to include in a personal statement, but also how to convincingly use written expression to create a compelling and unique statement that will secure offers from prestigious universities. My services will also include my own edits and feedback, in collaboration with the student, to ensure that their ambitions are clearly conveyed and convincing.
