About Étienne
Hi! My name is Étienne. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Montreal and have been teaching guitar since 2015.
In the past, I’ve helped students get into CEGEP and university music programs by preparing them for auditions. I’ve also taught big band harmony at the secondary 3–4–5 levels.
Here’s my YouTube channel if you’d like to hear me play:

Je parle aussi français y también soy fluido en español.
Looking forward to hearing from you,

You’ve been playing guitar for a while, you know your scales and a few solos—but when it comes to improvising, it feels like something’s missing: direction, flow, or meaning?
Do you feel stuck in your progress? Would you like to break through, learn how to improvise, and better understand what you’re playing?
Interested in blues and jazz, but not sure where to start?
I offer lessons specifically designed for intermediate guitarists who want to:
• Improve their blues improvisation
• Understand the basics of jazz (harmony, chords, improvisation, etc.)
• Move beyond pentatonic scales and expand their musical vocabulary
• Develop their ear
• Play with more confidence and musicality
Personalized approach
• Each lesson is tailored to your level, goals, and musical tastes.
• We focus on both feel and theory—always applied directly on the guitar.
Styles explored
• Blues (traditional, jazz blues, major/minor)
• Jazz (intro, standards, fusion)
• Rock, country, pop—depending on your interests
In-person or online lessons (in-person in Montreal and Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC)
️ 1-hour or 1.5-hour lessons weekly or biweekly ($50/hour)
Ideal if you want to quickly reach the next level without getting lost in unnecessary and discouraging theory.
