About Amber
I originally became interested in art through painting and doing acrylic portraits and landscapes inspired by the Impressionists. I have studied the Impressionists for 3 years and understand that period of Art History deeply. Since I began painting I have become very interested in observational drawing and poster making with a deep interest in 1960s band posters and decorative portraits. The most interesting thing for me is colour- I have studied Textile Design and Illustration and layering colour will always be my favourite tool to explore an image. My art classes will give you the opportunity to follow your curiosity and pair it with building fundamental drawing and painting skills. It will also give you the opportunity to build up a portfolio to follow once you leave.

Personal approach following the interest of the student. Looking at either a specific style of art or period of art history, or focusing on fundamentals of line, colour, tone and light. I often encourage working outdoors and regular personal sketchbooking. Lessons are 1 hour long and for ages 12+ and adults. I have experience teaching lessons at Newlyn School of Art and Mini Monets and I have graduated from Central St Martins and Falmouth School of Art.
