What can you talk about in the IELTS speaking test?
Can you express your ideas using high-level vocabulary when necessary?
Hey, guys, I have three years of IELTS teaching experience and focus on two things in my classes.
The most common pronunciation mistakes in English (Did you say beach or bitch) and combining topics to help students answer a greater number of questions at a high level.
This has helped my past students enter the exam with the ability to gain a 6.5 to an 8.

How I teach Pronunciation (example the E sound)
All letter combinations
ee: agree, attendee, bee, beep, beetle
ea: backseat, beach, beam, bean, beast
ie and ei= achieve, believe, brief, brownie, ceiling
final e= be, he, me, she, we
final y= ability, actually, astronomy, automatically
final ey= alley, bailey, barley, chimney, donkey
final ique= antique, boutique, critique
e + consonant + e= Chinese, Pete, these, Vietnamese
This is then followed with sample sentences that are full of the E sound.
Students are then given homework to practice during the week with feedback.
IELTS Topics Breakdown: Education
Common Education Topics in IELTS are...
Outcomes of education (What are you studying for = combine with business)
People (Teachers and students = combine with personality)
Subjects (Subjects studied or want to study = likes/ dislikes, speculating possibility)
Types of education (Online learning, University, Public schools = Opinions)
Activities (How to study= combine with technology + speculating possibility)
All topics are broken down into mini topics which are prepared for and discussed before practicing the IELTS structure, using the same examples that were discussed.
Students will be given articles and recordings of the articles + activities to practice with before class.
