I have been studying the saxophone with Ian for a number of weeks now, and can highly recommend him. Ian is professional, thorough and clear in the way he presents new ideas and techniques. He is always happy to answer questions and has helped me improve my playing exponentially in the time I have been studying with him. He approaches teaching flexibly and adapts his lessons to suit you as a person and what you need. He has a thorough knowledge of his instruments, and there is no question he can’t answer. He has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of music theory, and can present theory-based ideas and exercises with clarity. He’s friendly and welcoming, and is very patient! He has helped me improve my embouchre, my breathing techniques, and my fingering on the instrument amongst many other things. I’ve learnt more from Ian in the last few weeks than two years of my own self studying! Can highly recommend!
