About Ben
Ben is a passionate and energetic horn and trumpet player originally from Quincy, IL. With a background in Concert Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quintet, Orchestra, Choir, Show Choir, Theater, and many more, the arts have shaped Ben to become the well rounded professional musician that he is today.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Horn Performance from the University of Iowa where he studied under Jeff Agrell and Dr. Katy Ambrose. He holds a Master's degree in Horn Performance from the University of Tennessee where he studied under Jefferey Whaley and Dr. Katie Johnson. He is a graduate of the United States Army School of Music where he studied under Staff Sergeant Brody and received the C1 distinction for his exceptional musicianship.
Ben is a current member of the 312th Army Band, and teaches and performs regularly in Kansas City Area.

My teaching philosophy revolves around equipping students with the tools necessary to solve musical issues as they show up in their own playing. The question "what just happened?" will have an immediate answer! Lessons can be taught in 30 minute or hour length formats, in-person(within 25-miles) or virtually.
