About Maria
I live in the UK with my cat and two dogs in a beautiful little village with an ancient church near Wales.
In 2015 I became disabled with ME and was unable to attend my job in a school anymore. I really enjoyed working in education and I would like to continue to help students from home now because I still have a lot to offer. I am enthusiastic and like to see my students understand - there is nothing like seeing them have a lightbulb moment!

I currently work with speakers of English as a Second Language online from all over the world. I am able to work with children and adults and have a small amount of time for bookings.
My style is student-focused. Gauging where students are at and what they are working towards is important, so discussion is imperative to meeting your needs.
Challenging the confident and building up those who feel less confident is also my style and I use a combination of serious study with moments of light-hearted discussion for maintaining student attention and enjoyment.
I like to add some surprise questions to check learning and to give feedback in a critical, truthful way yet with encouragement and the desire for my students to fulfil their potential.
