About Cameron
Hi there! Here's a little about myself..
I completed my post-graduate diploma through Monash and my Honours degree in Psychological Science through ISN in Melbourne, finishing up in 2019. My thesis looked at the correlation between caloric restriction, alcohol dependence and anxiety in a population of alc. preferring lab rats.
I have an interest in biopsychosocial frameworks and theoretical approaches that I find draw really useful links between both very traditional psychology theories and more recent neurological and developmental research.
Before undertaking my post-grad in psychology I spent 8 years writing, recording, and touring both domestically and internationally as a musician, receiving high rotation on Triple J and other media platforms. I've been fortunate enough to be able to merge my interest in the arts with my psychology qualifications, undertaking music research at the University of Queensland in a choral setting. I still like to write and record music and work with line drawing and visual mediums, and am interested in the convergence of psychology and the arts.
I'm currently in the final stages of completing my masters qualification with the 5+1 pathway.
I like to teach most tutorials online where possible but am open to travel to a library or somewhere that works logistically.
Thank you and welcome!

Hi there! Here's my approach to tutoring and how I go about teaching classes:
I find it most helpful to tailor each class to each students' learning and communication style and circumstance, and as a rapport is established and exchange of information becomes easy my classes are generally structured in the following ways:
- Students will email me two days prior to scheduled class with broad details of the of the subject/s or classes they're seeking assistance with (e.g. statistics, developmental psychology, meta analysis), and any specific areas or assignment questions they're seeking clarity around. I will prepare resources for that tutorial tailored to the questions and the students' learning and communication style. I'm also very encouraging of feedback and find it super helpful!
- Typical length of a class or tutorial is roughly 45min or 1 hr, but I try not to be too particular here, my focus is mostly on whether we've covered the material requested.
- My qualifications: I did my post-graduate diploma through Monash and my Honours degree in Psychological Science through ISN in Melbourne. My thesis looked at the correlation between caloric restriction, alcohol dependence and anxiety in a population of alc. preferring lab rats. I have experience teaching both online and in a group setting around Dual-Diagnosis with several governmental AOD facilities. I'm currently completing my masters with a focus on personality traits and digital media consumption as predictors for certain behaviours and beliefs.
- My lessons are predominantly for undergraduate students, or really anyone in their first four years of study for psychological science. I also really like to assist where I can with questions around study and career pathways that aren't necessarily taught at most institutions that can be overwhelming..!
Thank you and welcome
