About Homer

I have learned the Japanese language 25 years ago, have resided in Japan for more than 16 years, and still speak, listen to, read, write and even watch Japanese movies, anime and YouTube videos while here in Australia.

I have been through many methods of learning Japanese (from non-native to native Japanese speakers) and with that I have come up with an efficient teaching method that will suit English speakers.

I am also a certified N1 passer, that I believe is an obvious qualification for me to teach Japanese to non-Japanese speaking people.

About the lesson

For new learners:

We will start with basic greetings (kihon aisatsu), everyday words to remember, and transitioning from English to Japanese, and semi-intermediate Japanese (nouns, adjectives, and verbs and their conjugations), all learned in English alphabet.

Then we will learn the three Japanese character sets (hiragana, katakana and basic kanji), and we will blend them to everything you have learned so far.

Every lesson runs every one hour, and the daily lecture may take up to three hours. This can be configurable to suit everyone's needs.

For JLPT learners (to be available mid-2024):

For the meantime, I will be catering students who aim to pass N5 and N4, and those who are aiming N3 and N2. I will be providing this as soon as I have the materials with me.
