About Anya

I am an Affiliated Lecturer at the University of Cambridge and have held research fellowship positions at the Universities of Cambridge and York. My own research and publications centre on mediaeval art and philosophy but my teaching ranges across the periods and subjects of Art History. I am highly experienced supporting students studying for the History of Art A-Level (Edexcel). I also offer tutoring sessions to those wanting help with essay writing, dissertation support, or assistance with university applications. I teach students of many ages (from teenagers to adult learners), both in-person and online. My goal is to empower students to feel in control of, and in love with, their own learning.

About the lesson

I want you to enjoy the lessons - the learning takes care of itself. I usually teach hour-long tutorials. For A-Level, we devise a timetable suited to you, to work through your option papers, complete past exam questions, and get to grips with visual analysis. For students wanting support with specific projects or skills, I tailor the sessions and schedule accordingly.

We’re so pleased with the support our daughter is receiving from Anya for her History of Art A Level. Anya’s tutoring has been incredibly helpful – especially in developing our daughter's visual analysis skills and helping her to see how to build a structured approach to answering exam questions. Sessions are always clear, thoughtful, and engaging, and Anya’s enthusiasm for the subject really shines through. She’s been great at encouraging discussion around different artworks and is patiently helping our daughter find her voice in how she talks about them. It’s wonderful to see her grow in both understanding and enthusiasm – we’re really grateful for Anya’s support!
