About Mikael
Yo! I'm Mikael, a hip hop/EDM producer called Mikeison. I professionally make music productions, do mixing and mastering. My clients are mainly hip hop artists but also pop singers. I've been a producer for 9 years. In addition to hip hop, I also produce different genres of EDM, especially house and techno.
I like to play a variety of music, such as pop, rock, metal, funk, jazz, soul, RnB. I have experience in: playing in a band, band recordings, live mixing and concert audio technology, acoustics, notation, music theory, music history and much more.
I graduated from the conservatory with a basic degree in music from Gradia in spring 2025. My major was Hip Hop and my minor was Saxophone. I have also studied the Media Music and Digital Audio Production Folk High School program at AhlmanEdu.
DAW is my main instrument, but I have knowledge of traditional instruments such as saxophone, vocals, drums, piano, guitar and basics of bass.
Thanks to my education and experience, I have mastered the entire arc of music production from recording to music publishing.

- My studio is small, so recording drums is unfortunately not possible. I have an acoustic guitar, electric guitar, MIDI keyboard, saxophone, recorder and percussion instruments.
- Due to the small size of my studio, rock and metal are only possible to a limited extent.
WHAT DO YOU NEED FOR THE LESSONS?
- DAW = digital audio workstation or music-making software. Beginners should have Ableton Live, as I have little experience with other DAWs. Users of other DAWs are also welcome to take my lessons! However, you must have basic knowledge of your own software.
- Laptop, if you come to my studio.
- Mouse (highly recommended, makes everything a lot easier)
- Headphones
The teaching is mainly carried out with free add-ons, or plugins, unless the student wishes for a paid plugin that I have or that I can obtain.
WHERE DO WE STUDY?
The teaching happens in my home studio in Kuokkala or remotely in Discord. The teaching can also be arranged at a location of the student's choice, e.g. at the student's home or studio, at the library or at youth center studio. It is the student's responsibility to find out and arrange the necessary equipment for teaching. You can get additional instructions from me if you are unsure!
WHAT KIND OF TEACHER I AM?
As a teacher, I strive for a positive and encouraging attitude and a respectful encounter with people. No music piece is bad - it is just unfinished! Art is a matter of taste. Every person is capable of creating art, talents are not born with, but skills are learned. What can be innate or learned from the family is an interest in certain things. Interest, on the other hand, is something that promotes learning.
People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to my teaching! I follow the principles of a safe space and I expect the same from my students. Since giving and receiving feedback is an essential part of teaching music, I think it's very important that we pay attention to what we say, in what situation and in what way. This way, everyone will have a good feeling after the teaching sessions!
