About Ellie

I am currently a fine arts student and have been giving private lessons since the age of 15 and was the runner up of the Lord Mayors Art award of Kent at age 9. Due to my background in social psychology and past experiences with bullying, technology addiction and mental illness I feel I can make a positive impact to young students lives through speech regarding frequent schooling issues as well as my younger age means I can connect well with students and understand their struggles.

About the lesson

Within my Painting classes I base my methodology off of one to one tutoring and focus on emotional expression through mark making and realism in art, teaching is done practically looking at form and shape to ensure quick progress with the emotional well-being of students being the main priority; forming an encouraging inclusive atmosphere. In terms of groups a step by step approach is first attempted, after students gaining base level skill set there is more of a personal, emotional way of teaching aiming to build the intuition of students artistically and being able to channel emotion into their work adding a sense of personality. In terms of motivational speaking I cover basis of mental illness with aim to promote healthy disclosure and ways of tackling them socially and individually. I also promote modern day psychological theory to do with technology such as insecurity issues due to social media and the increasing difficulties with marginalisation, tackling more prominent problems of bullying and escapism into addiction.
