About Abby
As a current student, I have faced many obstacles when it comes to math. Whether it be falling behind or feeling stuck on particular topics, its bound to happen to every student! Instead of using these roadblocks as a means to avoid moving forward, I believe it is important to take a step back and figure out why we, as students, don't understand something.
Tutoring is a fantastic way to get a second opinion or method of teaching which may suit you better. Or, maybe looking at a concept a second time or a little slower was all you needed to start moving forward.
I have taken numerous advanced courses, and my efforts have been made clear in the academic achievements I have made thus far, such as my 4.5 and 3.9 weighted and unweighted GPAs, respectively. I hope to normalize making these big achievements, using our resources, and most importantly, finding confidence in our abilities to do hard things, early on!

I am a firm believer that a deep understanding for all mathematical concepts stems from creating confidence with math within the foundational years. As a student currently enrolled in college-level math classes and who has previously taken both advanced and standard level classes, I have experienced a multitude of techniques to develop math skills.
I strive to create a comfortable lesson which focuses on mastering the curriculum while understanding its real world application.
I focused teaching math as less of a formula or memory-based subject, but instead as a concept which is based on an understanding of why the math works. This supports students' futures by connecting key foundational concepts with future ones.
My hopes are to break any preconceptions of the difficulty of math early on in elementary-aged students, allowing them to view math in a positive light moving forward.
