About Simphiwe
I didn't become a tutor; I was born one. Back in high school, my teachers would pull me aside after class and say, 'go explain to the class you always make it click'. So, I'd stand at the board, scribble diagrams, shout out jokes and suddenly 30 kids who were lost were scribbling notes like they'd discovered fire. That's where I realized teaching is not about knowing the answer, it's about seeing a confusion in someone's eyes and turning it into 'AHA' moments. I'm not here to give answers, I'm here to build creative thinkers. I'm not here to teach math, I'm here to turn your child into someone who believes they can do math. NB Yes, I still get nervous before class, but that's how I know I care.

Most math tutors teach from the textbook; I teach from the exam. I've spent years dissecting CAPS past papers from 2015 to 2025 now, so I know exactly how grade 8-12 questions are framed, what wording they use and which topics repeat year after year. No surprise questions. No "Oh, we didn't cover that, every lesson includes 3 real past paper problems or more depending on time, but we break them down together, step by step, until you can do them blindfolded. I don't just show you the answer, I show you why the formula works, where it comes from and why the examiner wants you to write it that way. I use the textbook only as backup to explain the theory but 80% of class is live past papers practice. NB I'm not just teaching math, I'm training exam warriors.
