About Rom
I am Dr. Rom, an experienced educator, debate coach, and communication specialist with over 15 years of background in teaching, public speaking, writing, and developing students’ critical-thinking skills.
I have three doctoral degrees in communication, development education, and special education. I have also spent years working with students in various educational settings. I taught English in Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and currently, in the United States. As a teacher and debate coach, I’ve had the opportunity to help students become stronger writers, speakers, researchers, and thinkers.
My teaching style is usually supportive, practical, and student-centered. I don't want students to simply memorize information. Instead, I want them to understand how to think through a problem, organize their ideas, communicate effectively, and develop confidence in their own abilities to turn them into excellent speakers.
