About Naveed

Three certifications (PCAP, PCPP1 and AWS Certified Developer – Associate), two degrees (an MSc in Computer Science and a BSc in Applied Mathematics) and 11 years of professional Python engineering are the foundation of my lessons.

In industry I built a pipeline processing 15 million transactions a day and a production fraud-detection service with FastAPI. As an engineer, I have seen that clear, simple code beats clever code, so that is the habit I teach first. I hold relevant programming certifications, including PCAP and PCPP1 for Python. As an engineer and a former teaching assistant, I can explain both how code works and how it is assessed. Students book me as a programming tutor, instructor and mentor for programming fundamentals and coursework as well as data structures and algorithms in Python, in one-on-one lessons online or in person in Denver, CO.

I have been tutoring for more than 7 years. My students' results range from excellent grades to first jobs in tech and successful career switches. As a tutor I have taught 450+ students over 3,200+ hours, including an intro CS student who went from a C to an A–. I was also a teaching assistant for intro Python at university for 2 years. I teach in English, online or in person in Denver, CO.

Who are these programming lessons for?
High school students and their parents, including AP Computer Science Principles; professionals who want to automate work with code; and complete beginners learning to code from zero.

How do you teach?
My method is the Predict-Run-Build loop. Before any code runs, you predict the output. We run it and explain any surprise. Then you build the next step yourself, on your own project or assignment.

What happens in a lesson?
We start with your goals and questions, review homework with one predict-the-output warm-up, then I introduce a new concept live. You spend 20 minutes at the keyboard on your own project or assignment, take a short quiz, and we finish with a recap and homework. Written notes and the code are sent after every lesson.

What makes your lessons different?
My examples come from real work: a Python and Airflow pipeline that processed 15 million transactions a day, a FastAPI service running a fraud-detection model in production, and a reporting system that replaced 20 hours a week of manual Excel work.

Popular requests: Ubuntu tutor, final year project tutor, Python homework help, computer tutor, programming tutor. Popular topics: project-based learning, programming fundamentals, variables, loops and functions, data structures, learn to code for beginners, debugging, FastAPI basics.

The first full hour is free: bring your current assignment, project or question and we start there.
