About Lucas

My name is Lucas, I’m from Brazil and currently living in Chicago. I’ve always been passionate about languages, culture, and communication — and teaching became a natural path for me. I’m fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and I love helping people feel confident when expressing themselves in a new language. I have a degree in Law from UNASP (Brazil), and I lived in Chile for over five years, which allowed me to fully learn Spanish in a natural environment. I’ve been in the U.S. for over three years, and I use English daily both socially and professionally. What drives me as a tutor is connection. I enjoy creating relaxed, respectful spaces where students feel safe to practice, make mistakes, and grow. I personalize each lesson to fit your goals and learning style, and I bring cultural aspects, real-life examples, and lots of patience into our sessions. About the lesson

I believe learning a new language should feel natural and motivating — not stressful or overwhelming. My method is all about real-life use, clear explanations, and helping you feel confident from the start. In a typical lesson, we begin with a short conversation to warm up, then move into a focused topic like useful vocabulary or grammar (always in context). After that, we practice through guided exercises, role-play, and real conversations — all tailored to your goals. If you want extra practice, I can send short tasks between lessons too. What makes my classes different is that I keep things relaxed, encouraging, and personal. I’ve learned languages myself, so I know the challenges. I always aim to create a space where you feel safe to make mistakes and grow. I also bring cultural insights, native expressions, and a lot of patience to each session. My lessons are great for beginners and intermediate learners, no matter your reason: travel, work, moving abroad, or just wanting to speak more naturally.
