About Aweksha
Hi! I'm Aweksha, a 21-year-old undergraduate student majoring in Political Science in India. While I'm here as a crochet tutor, crochet is only one part of a much larger journey shaped by creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning.
A few things that define who I am:
• I possess a deep curiosity about the world and genuinely enjoy learning new skills, languages, cultures, ideas, and perspectives. I believe there is something valuable to learn from everything around us.
• I am passionate about the arts and enjoy exploring a wide range of creative pursuits. Alongside crochet, I practice several dance forms, including Contemporary, Indian Classical, Semi-Classical, and Western styles. I also play multiple musical instruments, including the piano, harmonium, German recorder, ukulele, drums, and bagpipes.
• Movement, mindfulness, and nature play an important role in my life. I enjoy activities that encourage personal growth, observation, and a deeper connection with the world around us.
• I am multilingual and can communicate comfortably in English, Hindi, and German, along with several regional Indian languages. This allows me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and learning environments.
• Academically, I have always been a dedicated and enthusiastic student with an enduring passion for knowledge, self-development, and meaningful experiences.
These interests and experiences naturally influence my teaching style. I strive to create a learning environment that is patient, encouraging, engaging, and driven by genuine understanding. My goal is not only to help students learn crochet but also to help them develop confidence, creativity, and the ability to think independently as makers.

My crochet lessons are carefully tailored to each student's individual goals, learning style, and pace, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable learning experience from the very first session.
We begin with the absolute fundamentals and gradually progress to more advanced techniques through a structured, hands-on approach. Every lesson combines clear explanations with practical application, allowing students to create projects that match their current skill level while steadily building confidence and competence.
Beyond learning stitches and techniques, students develop a comprehensive understanding of crochet by learning how to read and interpret written patterns, follow crochet charts, and eventually create patterns of their own. The goal is not simply to teach you how to replicate existing designs, but to equip you with the skills and confidence to design, adapt, and create independently.
My teaching philosophy focuses on understanding the logic, geometry, and patterns that form the foundation of crochet. By recognizing the reasoning behind each technique, students develop a deeper grasp of the craft, making learning more intuitive, flexible, and rewarding.
With over nine years of crochet experience, I strive to teach crochet not merely as a hobby or a series of instructions, but as a creative and analytical skill. Alongside technical proficiency, I place special emphasis on cultivating patience, perseverance, problem-solving abilities, and mindful focus—qualities that crochet naturally nurtures and that extend far beyond the craft itself.
Whether your goal is to learn a new hobby, create handmade gifts, design your own patterns, or explore crochet as a creative outlet, my lessons are designed to help you become a confident and independent crocheter.
