About Rachel
I am a 23-year old dancer and fitness fanatic wanting to help other students fulfill their passion in this expressive subject. I have performed in a varied amount of venues and theatres such as 'The Liverpool Empire', 'Liverpool Philharmonic' 'Leeds O2 Academy' 'Aintree Racecource' and many more including venues in Greece. These performances have been for award winning musicals, dance shows, artist tours and Aintree races. I have had the opportunity to dance alongside Wayne Sleep, Matthew Bournes dance company 'New Adventures', West Kirby Operatics (WKLOS) and danced on tours for music artists. I have passed with mainly Distinctions in BBO examinations in Ballet, Jazz, Tap up to Advanced Level. I have taught dance classes to children in dance schools from beginners to Grade 3 as well as assisting in A-LEVEL Dance classes which I loved doing and want to carry on with the tutoring side of this beautiful art.

My goal is to help you achieve your personal aims in this wonderful subject wether it be choreography, learning new dance styles, understanding the anatomy of the athletes body, expressing performance skills, the list goes on and I am happy to help with whatever you need in this subject. We can start off with a chat about what you would like to learn from me and anything you need help with in dance and I will fit all lessons around your goals. I would usually split my lessons in to theory and practical topics as I feel this gives the perfect balance in understanding and enjoying the subject. Theory lessons can involve; understanding choreographers' ideas and how they convey themes in their work, science within the body of an athlete, terminology within different dance styles, skills within the performance etc. And practical lessons can be based on learning different dance styles (ballet, jazz, modern and contemporary), creating pieces of dance as a group and individually, learning pieces from many different dance works and implementing them into the theory, creating dance training excersises including warm up, barre work, centre work, cool down. I work hard to ensure every lesson is fun and relevant, whilst pulling out every individuals unique style and expression in order to increase confidence and skills. My focus is your goal and I am determined to help any students, children to A-LEVEL students achieve what they want from this subject.
