About Letlotlo

Hi! I’m a third-year Fine Arts student at the Michaelis School of Fine Art (UCT), majoring in Sculpture with a particular love for ceramics. I’ve also trained in woodwork, metalwork, bronze casting, molded casting, and cement, so I really enjoy getting my hands dirty and pushing creative boundaries. Beyond sculpture, I also have strong skills in photography, painting, printmaking, and drawing. I have a broad and deep understanding of Art History and Art Theory, and love connecting creative practice with historical and cultural context. I'm also a bookworm and jazz enthusiast, both of which inspire my artistic practice and teaching style. This year, I had the privilege of being part of the Portfolio Development Program at UCT, where I helped high school learners and adults develop their art-making skills. It was such a fulfilling experience that confirmed how much I enjoy teaching and mentoring. I love creating a space where people feel safe to experiment, express themselves, and learn in a way that feels personal and exciting. If you’re looking for a tutor who is both knowledgeable and passionate, and who will tailor lessons to you, I’d love to work with you.

About the lesson

What My Lessons Involve: (Art History + Art-Making)
Whether you want to understand the power of art through history or get your hands messy with paint, clay, or pencil—my lessons are all about making creativity exciting, meaningful, and fun.
I’m a UCT Fine Arts student with a passion for helping others find their unique artistic voice while also understanding the “why” behind the art we make.
️ Art History Lessons include:
•Breaking down famous artworks and movements into engaging stories
•Connecting global art to African and South African perspectives
•Visual mind maps, creative timelines, and storytelling to make history memorable
•Prepping for exams or essays with structured but fun methods
Practical Art-Making Lessons (Sculpture, Drawing, Painting):
•Step-by-step guidance in exploring your chosen medium
•Tips on how to unlock creativity, experiment, and find your own style
•Building foundational skills (like proportion, tone, texture) through fun, hands-on exercises
•Personalized feedback to help you grow at your own pace.
I teach with patience, energy, and real-world insight. Whether you're a beginner or just need extra support, we’ll make each session count, and make it fun along the way.
