As an English teacher dedicated entirely to absolute beginners, my goal is to take the fear out of learning a new language. Walking into your first English class can feel overwhelming, but I design every moment to feel safe, encouraging, and surprisingly fun.
Here is exactly how I approach our lessons together, what a typical class looks like, and how we will build your confidence from day one.
My Teaching Methods & Techniques
When you are just starting out, translating endless grammar rules in your head doesn’t work. Instead, I use techniques designed to get you understanding and speaking immediately:
The Communicative Approach: We focus on real-world communication. I don't just teach you the word "water"; I teach you how to say "Can I have some water, please?" so you can use it today.
Total Physical Response (TPR): For absolute beginners, I pair words with gestures, facial expressions, and visual cues. If I teach the word "run," I show it. This builds a direct mental link to the action without needing to translate it into your native language first.
Scaffolding: I break language down into tiny, digestible building blocks. We master one small piece before adding the next, ensuring you never feel underwater.
The 80/20 Rule (Student-Talk Time): I keep my explanations brief. Roughly 80% of our class time is dedicated to you practicing, speaking, and interacting, while I guide and support you. These lessons are specifically crafted for A1-level learners (True Beginners).
Level: Absolute beginners, false beginners (people who took English years ago but forgot everything), and anyone who feels terrified of speaking.
No Degree Required: This isn't a rigid university lecture. Whether you are learning English for basic travel, to support your career, to pass a basic introductory class, or simply as a personal goal, the language is kept accessible and practical.
Specifics: I slow down my speech, use clear pronunciation, and heavily rely on visual aids. You do not need any prior knowledge of English to start.
