About Valencia
Hello! My name is Valencia Jacob, or Teacher Val. I'm from South Africa, and teaching English is my passion! I also enjoy authentic Thai restaurants, having coffee dates with friends, going shopping, meeting new people and learning other languages. in Education and I am a certified tefl English tutor. My teaching experience includes teaching English and Natural Science as an Education Assistant to highschool learners between the ages of 13 to 14 years old for the past 1 year. I've also worked with learners between the ages of 14 to 18 years assisting and guiding them with their English setbooks. This Is also the highschool where I have worked as a Education Assistant for the 1 year .
You'll probably enjoy having me as your teacher if you like deep discussions, polite error correction, and plenty of positive encouragement.I am a professional, responsible and friendly teacher with a strong passion to pursue a career in teaching english. The reason chose to be a teacher because teaching is not just a profession, it is a mission. The love and affection, the respect that students shower on a teacher who is able to inspire them by example in all spheres far surpasses the joy that wealth can bestow. I know with all three of these teaching methods and my love for teaching I will excel and be the best teacher I can possibly be.

For each and every age group I will take my time and use the Total Physical Response The purpose of TPR is to create a brain link between speech and action to boost language and vocabulary learning. Students can more easily associate witwhat I am teaching to them with relevant movement this also creates a better bond and understanding
The direct method, all teaching is done in the target language, translations are not allowed in class, and the focus lies heavily on speaking instead of grammar. This makes the direct method a very student-centered strategy
Students are supposed to learn the target language naturally and instinctively, which is why the direct method is also called the “natural approach.”
The Communicative language teaching(CLT) is perhaps the most popular approach among the method
s of teaching ESL today that is why I would like to incorporate it in my classroom. CLT emphasizes the students’ ability to communicate in real-life contexts, and students learn to make requests, accept offers, explain things, and express their feelings and preferences
