About Jacob
I have recently graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. During my time there, I studied on the Jazz Piano course before switching to Composition in which I received 1st Class Honours. The teaching studies on the course further supported my 3 years of tutoring experience.
I also studied abroad in Japan at Osaka College of Music, where I specialised in Video-Game Composition and Singer Songwriting, as well as learning Japanese.
I would love nothing more than to share my passion and experience with anyone who is interested!

I specialise in understanding what it is that a student wants to achieve and giving them all the tools they need to unlock their potential as an individual. I will help you make learning and practising an adventure where you will discover who you really are as a musician. If you are preparing for an exam, I would love to help bring out every ounce of your potential so that you can excel, in a way that is varied, dynamic and fun!
Lessons typically range from 30-60 minutes. My teaching style is built upon my years of developing my own unique playing style, where I simply explored. I find this method of learning allows students to hone their unique musicality, and to deeply understand and connect with the music they are playing.
I have taught piano for 3 years in Rugby, Cardiff and Osaka, Japan. I specialise in teaching Jazz and Pop piano, with a focus on improvisation, but am more than happy to teach any style, to any age, at any level.
As well as Piano, I also teach Music GCSE, Music A-Level, Music Theory, Grade-5 Theory, Jazz Theory, Aural Skills, and Composition.
