About Luke

For as long as I can remember, I was always fascinated by linguistics and polyglots. I've been studying multiple languages, including Spanish, English, Arabic, Japanese, Ancient Greek and Latin and the experience my teachers transmitted is invaluable. I hope to transmit that knowledge too as a way to give back to the community.
Additionally, I had the chance to follow multiple internships that taught me precious lessons about teaching and patience.
As for me, I'd say I enjoy working with anyone, especially when I can learn something too!

About the lesson

My approach would be a hands-on approach, focused on speaking and acquiring the basic set of skills needed to survive in any French city.
First and foremost, I believe that discussing the current level of French of the student is the most important part of my job. In my opinion, a good teacher is a teacher that understands how the student assimilates knowledge.
Typically, I would start the lesson with a quick discussion. From there, I could see the main difficulties of the student and build the course from there. Following this, we'd tackle grammar and vocabulary. Then, it is time for questions and exercises, as I believe practice is the real shortcut for learning a language.
I think this approach really prepares anyone for a real discussion and gives better results. Compared to a traditional in-class lesson, this one-on-one, discussion-focused approach is more natural and also more human, as you get to learn while having fun!
These lessons are addressed to anyone, although it might be easier for older students to chat than with younger ones.
