About Christa

I know what it’s like to feel unsure about your writing. For a long time, I didn’t feel confident expressing my own ideas in an academic setting because I worried that my interests weren’t “academic enough.” That changed when I had an English professor who encouraged me to write authentically about what genuinely interested me. Their guidance helped me realize that anything can be explored academically, and it reignited my love for writing.

Now, I want to inspire other students to do the same. I aim to help you express your ideas clearly and confidently, whether it’s an essay, a resume, or a project, and to show that your own interests are always worthy of thoughtful exploration. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students can enjoy writing, develop their voice, and feel proud of their work.

About the lesson

Since I’m fairly new to tutoring, my approach is very collaborative and focused on what the student needs most. I like to start by understanding what someone is working on and where they feel stuck. From there, we go through the material together step by step, whether that means reviewing an essay, practicing English conversation, or improving a resume.

In a typical session, we’ll first talk about the goal for that lesson. Then we’ll work through the writing or topic together, with me giving suggestions, asking questions, and explaining changes so the student understands why something works better. I also try to leave time at the end to review what we improved and what to focus on next.

What sets me apart is that I focus a lot on clarity and communication. I enjoy helping people express their ideas in a way that feels natural and confident, especially in English writing.

My lessons are best for high school students who want help proofreading essays, improving writing, working on resumes or cover letters, or practicing English conversation. I’m also happy to help people who just want a second set of eyes on their work. I’m open to tutoring other grade levels as well—just send me a message with a bit about the work you need help with so we can see if it's a good fit. :)
