My resume says I have three Master's of Music and I taught College.
All true, but... I'm a regular dude. A guy who fell in love with Metallica in 1987, bought a Guitar, and never put in down.
A fun and witty guy who has five students that have been with me for longer than five years. And two cats.
When I was hired to teach at MSU Denver, I was given fun classes like Song Arranging, Songwriter's Workshop, Advanced Guitar, even Group Performance.
Simply, I aim to be the kind of Teacher that I would want, the Teacher that makes lessons feel more like hanging out.
All while learning from someone I KNOW I can trust to keep guiding me the right way.

Not only have I been teaching privately since 1996, but I never wanted to stop learning! So, today, I'm a former College Professor with three Master's in Classical Guitar, Music Composition, and Jazz.
I have a small studio of Students that study with me at a really high level, but I also love teaching people who just want to learn 'regular' Guitar, but from a really good Teacher.
What sets me apart is pretty simple: I have almost 30 years of experience privately AND academically, my resume is top-notch, and I've given ca. 40,000 one-on-one lessons since 1996.
I've taught countless absolute beginners, working professionals, and everyone in-between.
And while I advertise as a 'Guitar Teacher,' I've taught undergrad Music Theory, Orchestration/Arranging, Ear Training, and a whole bunch more.
But... I never, ever forget the joy of just picking up a Guitar and playing, so no matter who or 'where' you are in your relationship with the Guitar, I'm excited to guide you!
