About Esther
I am a student who found their love for literature early on. I knew that I would love literature forever and not just as a way to pass time but a way of understanding the world around me. In reading critically, I can examine history, philosophy, politics, sociology, psychology etc. The relevance of fiction holds no bounds and I want to be able to aid in the understanding and the appreciation of classics, how they've aided in creating new genres and explore their wider impact on popular culture. Ultimately I want to teach because I understand just how stressful exams can be and I am determined to make the process as smooth and as enjoyable as possible. Questions are always welcome with me because that is how we learn and so if you do have any questions at all, I would do my absolute best to answer them.

I aim to make the process of reading engaging and exciting. I want to be an extra tool to aid in your academic learning and development particularly in the literary sphere. I will aim to show you that there is great value in not just learning the essential material but engaging in wider culture to fully grasp the effect of a piece of work. I would typically use worked examples, a diversity of texts in order to practice reading and writing with the students and I would need their English syllabus in order to tailor to the student's individual needs. Lessons would last 45 minutes to 1 hour, which would consist of spending the first 5 minutes catching up with the student and making sure they are prepared and reading for their sessions. Homework would be set fortnightly depending on the need and where the student is working at academically and how affective it would be. My sessions would be for those working towards their SATs or GCSEs. Particularly the Literacy section and the English literature/Language exam.
