About Kim
Kim’s musical experiences have been strewn across the globe over the past 35 years. Kim’s teachers include Robert Fripp, [voted best guitarist in the world 3 years running,] Guitar Player Mag], and Nigel Gavin. Kim has many and varied styles of musical flavors. Kim was the principal writer for Pacific Curls Trio for 12 years and wrote 6 albums for that trio. Kim has been involved in over 20 different groups, and 38 recorded works, and composed for 3 documentary soundtracks [Restoring Lake Omapere being one of them]. Kim was commissioned to compose 5 pieces for Jack Gray's Maori dance company Atamira, she also composed music for Fijian-born Darren Kamali’s play “Mango Tree,” improvising with the actors at live shows. Kim worked with “Rako” the Rotuman dance company in Fiji, where she was part of the musician lineup improvising for live shows. Kim was part of the documentary series held in Vancouver called “100 Years Café” filmed over 3 days; it showcased her skills as a collaborator and composer. Kim has toured the globe extensively performing in major festivals around the world.

I teach beginners to advanced players, covering all aspects of performance and techniques, sight-reading, left and right hand techniques, songs and composition. Lessons vary from 30 mins to 60 mins. Group and one-on-one lessons are available. I have been a music mentor for NZ Music Commission for 20 years and have been giving private lessons for 30 years...
