About Hossam

I am a PGY3 doctor with clinical experience across core medical and surgical rotations, including emergency, ICU, general medicine, and general surgery. I have gained clinical exposure in Australia at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Australian Dental Anesthetic Group, and I have successfully passed the AMC MCQ exam.
I am passionate about teaching because I understand the challenges of preparing for medical exams, particularly as an international graduate. Having gone through this process myself, I aim to simplify complex concepts, focus on high-yield material, and help students build both confidence and strong clinical reasoning skills. Teaching allows me to support others in achieving their goals while reinforcing my own knowledge and contributing to the next generation of doctors.

About the lesson

My approach to private tutoring is student-centred, structured, and clinically oriented. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and actively engaging with the material, while also maintaining a clear focus on achieving exam success.
I begin by identifying the student’s current level, learning style, and specific goals—whether that is passing written exams, improving clinical reasoning, or preparing for OSCEs. Based on this, I tailor each session to address knowledge gaps while reinforcing high-yield concepts.
Given my clinical experience at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and my preparation for the AMC exams, I place strong emphasis on linking theory to real clinical scenarios. This helps students move beyond memorisation to true understanding, which is essential for both exams and clinical practice.
My teaching style is interactive rather than lecture-based. I use case discussions, targeted questioning, and exam-style scenarios to encourage critical thinking and build confidence. I also focus on exam technique—how to approach MCQs systematically and how to structure answers effectively in clinical exams.
Consistency and feedback are key components of my approach. I regularly assess progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust the teaching plan as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
Ultimately, my goal is not only to help students pass their exams, but to develop their confidence, clinical reasoning, and independence as future doctors.
