Hi, I’m Hai. I’m a Vietnamese teacher with a degree in International Communication and Culture. My lessons are about real, practical Vietnamese that people use in real conversations.

About Hai
My day job is documentary filmmaking, which means I work closely with people from many different backgrounds and cultures. Through this work, I’ve learned how powerful language and storytelling can be in connecting people.
Learning languages and cultural exchange are my passion. In our lessons, I don’t just teach Vietnamese, I also want to learn about you and your culture, so our sessions could feel like a genuine exchange rather than a one-way class.
I have experience teaching Vietnamese to foreigners, tourists, and expats working in foreign affairs. My lessons focus on practical, real-life Vietnamese that helps you communicate naturally and confidently in everyday situations.

Throughout our learning journey, we’ll work together based on your goals, whether you’re preparing for a trip, settling in Vietnam, or simply learning Vietnamese for personal interest.
My teaching approach focuses on repetition, role play, and pattern recognition, so you’re not overwhelmed by grammar rules. We’ll speak a lot and practise through real conversations.
This course is all about real-life Vietnamese, the kind people actually use on the streets.
Fun fact: we say “xin chào” a lot less than you might think.
