About Darien
I have over 7 years of experience teaching Guitar to college students, and my teaching style is motivating, creative, and student-focused. I aim to help students develop technical skills, musical expression, and confidence while enjoying every lesson.
I teach chords, fingerstyle techniques, improvisation, and songs, while making music theory simple and practical. Lessons also include backing tracks, recordings, and interactive exercises to make practice fun and effective.
Over the past 7 years, I’ve helped students improve technique, master songs, and develop their own musical style. My goal is to create lessons that are enjoyable, inspiring, and personalised to each student.

My guitar teaching methodology emphasises creativity, mentorship, critical thinking, and accountability. I encourage students to explore their musical ideas, experiment with techniques, and compose original songs. Lessons are interactive, practical, and designed to help students develop both technical skills and artistic expression.
Mentorship is key in my approach. I provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback to help students overcome challenges and build confidence. Critical thinking is emphasised by teaching students to analyse songs, apply theory in practice, and solve problems independently.
Accountability ensures consistent progress. We set goals, track improvements, and celebrate achievements. Lessons combine exercises, practice, and creative projects to keep students motivated and engaged.
Along with guitar, I teach music theory, improvisation, and composition. My aim is to develop confident, creative, and independent musicians who enjoy learning and performing music.
