About Jatin

I am a Grade 6 Guitarist certified by Trinity College of Music, London, with 5-6 years of teaching experience and over 100 students enrolled.

My passion lies in finding fun and creative ways to simplify musical concepts, ensuring every lesson is engaging and enjoyable. I design personalized curriculums tailored to each learner's musical taste and interests, making the learning experience both relevant and exciting.

I am also the founder of Strings of Symphony Music School, Gurugram. Beyond private lessons, I post Guitar and Ukulele tips and tutorials on my YouTube channel – SOS - Strings of Symphony.

About the lesson

I take a unique approach to teaching and learning by integrating live instruments into lessons, encouraging students to actively play alongside me. My goal is to inspire improvisation and help learners enjoy every moment of making music.

Vision
I aim to design a personalized curriculum for each student. Every learner has their own musical preferences, and by embracing that, I create a learning experience tailored to their unique tastes. Music is an art that grows with the person playing it, and I believe that learning to play an instrument is not just a skill but a form of meditation. Placing notes in sequence to create a symphony is truly magical—and I strive to share this empowering experience with as many students as possible.

Whether you're a hobbyist or preparing for certification, I will guide you through every step of the journey. I also offer preparation for Trinity College London or Rock School Music exams, helping you earn Grade Certificates recognized worldwide.

Joined him in Nov 2020 and as a super beginner when I wasn't even know how to hold a guitar and now I can confidently say that I had learn all basic chords along with some melodies and my learning journey is still very interesting with Jatin sir.

1. Crazy attention to detail on VC..down vs up picking, hand position, speed monitoring etc
2. In no hurry to move to songs. Happy to build confidence and progress on chords and strumming patterns and spider exercise

4. Gives homework and encourahes practice
5. Understands what works for different ages of students

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
The subject I specialise in is Guitar. It's a 6 string instrument, which allows us to create music in unlimited possibilities. I personally picked up guitar during my school days to attract girls i.e. i was playing to impress others, but as i went deeper into learning and playing, i realised i enjoyed it and was pleasing myself rather than others. That was a major break-through. Since then there is no turning back!
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
I picked up online guitar classes in 2019 as a side hustle while pursuing my college degree. Then I realised I enjoy teaching and watching my students play something that they thought was something very difficult or different for them. Also, the constant new challenges and thinking of new techniques to overcome them, motivates me to keep teaching.
How does your work help society?
Yes, it empowers people with the power of creating music. Playing an instrument is as good as meditating.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
I would think of "Tommaso Zillio" , his youtube channel goes by the name "MusicTheoryForGuitar" . The way he breaks down everything into small steps and all that people have do is follow those steps sincerely, anyone can learn anything in life by just breaking it down into steps for the mind to be able to comprehend it.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Other than teaching Guitar, I love to create musical content and cover different songs as per my feelings. I also love to travel and explore different places. I like to read as well as play video games.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
Yes, I have students from all over India, but there is this one student whose name is 'Prosenjit'. He was always regular and sincere with his classes. And within a few months he has now mastered all the basics and I really enjoy watching him play and sing so confidently with his friends and family. One just needs to trust the process and be regular with it.
