About Danny
I am a student at San Diego State University, I have played guitar for 10 years and have been teaching since 7. I am currently the Vice President of the Musicians Club at SDSU, as well as a part of the board at the Musicians Club of San Diego.
I started with learning rock guitar but was quickly drawn to blues, jazz and soul music. I have been in multiple bands and used to regularly perform at open mics in hillcrest and la mesa area. Currently I am enjoying the style of players like Robben Ford, Jerry Garcia, John Mayer and many others. I also enjoy playing and teaching other styles such as country, classical, jazz, R&B, etc.

As a guitar student I never enjoyed a really regimented approach of a curriculum. Instead, I enjoyed learning things I liked playing and in turn learned a lot faster and better. I have a similar approach with my students, I try to understand what the student wants to learn and where they would need improving. I teach them the basics and then let them choose what they want to learn, and explain the ideas and theory behind it. Having fun with the instrument is what is most important, if they enjoy what they are learning, they would be willing to learn more.
