About Jan
With over 8 years of experience as a Guitar tutor, I specialize in teaching Guitar to college students in a clear and engaging way. I believe learning music should be inspiring and stress-free.
My teaching style is patient, flexible, and student-focused. I adapt lessons to suit each student’s learning pace and musical interests. I focus on strong foundations and consistent improvement.
I use innovative teaching methods such as song-based practice, technique-focused exercises, and structured learning plans. Students improve chord accuracy, rhythm control, finger strength, and confidence by playing real music. I also use backing tracks to improve timing.
Music theory is explained in a simple and useful way. I encourage creativity through improvisation and basic songwriting.
I strive to create a comfortable and motivating learning environment. My goal is to help college students enjoy playing the guitar and continue learning with confidence.

I teach Guitar with a focus on creativity, critical thinking, mentorship, and accountability. I aim to make learning music both fun and meaningful. Lessons include improvisation, songwriting, and exploring different genres, helping students develop a unique musical voice.
Critical thinking is a key part of my teaching. I help students analyze songs, understand chord progressions and scales, and solve musical challenges independently. This empowers them to play confidently and make creative decisions.
Accountability ensures progress. I guide students to set goals, practice regularly, and track their improvement. Feedback and encouragement help students stay motivated and confident.
In addition to Guitar, I teach music theory, ear training, performance skills, and composition. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, level, and interests, making learning engaging and effective.
My goal is to mentor students into confident, creative musicians who enjoy playing, composing, and expressing themselves through music.
