About Garrett
I’m a guitar tutor with 2 years of teaching experience and a BM in Studio Music and Jazz, specializing as a Guitar Principal. My passion is helping students turn their guitar skills into tools for storytelling in film and video game music. I teach Electric, Acoustic, Classical, and Bass Guitar with a focus on cinematic and immersive sound. Whether you want to craft atmospheric textures, build thematic ideas, or experiment with sound design, I’ll guide you through the process. I also integrate digital audio workstations (DAWs) into lessons so you can bring your musical ideas to life in a production-ready format. My approach is student-centered, meaning I adapt lessons to your goals and interests. Young learners get engaging, hands-on activities, while adults benefit from project-based sessions tailored to their creative visions. I encourage exploration of both traditional guitar techniques and innovative soundscapes. Together, we’ll analyze how guitar can enhance mood, emotion, and pacing in media.
