About Steve

I started learning guitar at school at about 8 years old, and continued with my dad, playing over the years for family, myself, and small and large church groups. I have taught a number of children and adults over the past many years.

About the lesson

I will help you to play a song that you like in the first lesson or two (simply and slowly). After covering the basics of holding, tuning and strumming a guitar, I teach two or three basic chords so that you can play a song. Then I gradually build up the number of chords and songs you can play, as well as your skill - to sound better, change chords faster, and play the guitar in different ways (rhythms, capo, finger picking, strumming with thumb, finger or pick/plectrum). All at your pace, your kind of songs, and learning what you want to learn. I teach standard guitar playing with standard chords, without any particular style, and not classical or 'finger style' guitar. But you can use an acoustic or classical guitar to play.

Steve is a great teacher with a very relaxed and friendly approach. He makes learning Thai fun and engaging, using different interactive techniques that really help you understand and remember what you’re learning.

My girlfriend and I have been having weekly Thai lessons with Steve and have both seen a huge improvement in a short amount of time. Having regular lessons also keeps us motivated to keep improving and study between sessions.

He is friendly, and informal, relates well to other nationalities as he's lived in Thailand for many years and fluent in the language .He is honest and conscientious and doesn't charge too much for lessons.
