About Emilio

I'm a composer, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and music educator with 7 years of teaching experience, working with students of different ages, backgrounds and musical goals.

Guitar has been part of my life since I was around six years old and has become one of the main ways I perform, create and understand music. Over the years I've developed a strong understanding of rhythm, chords, harmony, accompaniment and improvisation across styles including rock, blues, jazz, funk, soul, pop and Latin music.

I studied Music Composition at IP Projazz in Chile, specialising in music for cinema and audiovisual media. My background in composition, harmony, arranging and orchestration gives me a broader perspective when teaching guitar — connecting what happens on the fretboard with how music works as a whole.

Since 2019, I've taught through private lessons, music academies and specialised music programs, working with children, teenagers and adults. My teaching has included guitar, piano, theory, composition, songwriting and music production.

My background has shown me that there is no single correct way to learn music. Every student develops differently, and my role is to understand what inspires you and find an approach that helps you progress while still enjoying the process. Technique and theory are important, but they should serve the music you want to make rather than turn learning into a chore.

My goal is not simply to teach you songs on the guitar, but to help you develop as a musician — understanding what you're playing, making your own musical decisions and becoming increasingly independent and confident.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around one idea: **you should be learning music, not just memorising guitar shapes.**

Every student has different goals, interests and ways of learning, so I adapt the lessons to you rather than following the same rigid program with everyone. We can work with the music you already love while developing the technique, understanding and creativity that will help you become a more complete and independent musician.

Depending on your goals, lessons can include:

* Chords, rhythm guitar and accompaniment
* Lead guitar and improvisation
* Technique and coordination
* Scales and fretboard knowledge
* Music theory and harmony applied to guitar
* Riffs, melodies, solos and songs you enjoy (repertoire)
* Rock, blues, funk, jazz, soul, pop and Latin styles
* Composition, songwriting and developing your own musical ideas

Whether you're starting from scratch or already have experience, we'll focus on the areas that will move your playing forward. I want you to understand not only **what to play, but why it works and how you can use it yourself** — so you gradually become a more confident and independent musician.

PARKING

Private covered parking in the building is available for students during their lesson time.

PAYMENT & CANCELLATIONS

Lessons are generally booked as a regular weekly time and can be paid weekly or monthly.

If you need to cancel or change a lesson, please provide at least "48 hours' notice". With sufficient notice, the lesson can be rescheduled subject to availability.

For cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, the lesson will still be charged. If possible, I may offer another available time within the same week, but make-up lessons are not guaranteed.

For planned holidays or extended absences, please provide at least "7 days' notice" so we can pause or adjust your regular lesson schedule.

If I ever need to cancel a lesson, it will always be rescheduled or credited.

This policy helps me keep regular lesson times available for each student while maintaining a consistent and reliable schedule for everyone.
