About Faye
My passion for guitar began during adolescence, exploring classical, jazz, and contemporary styles. This inspired me to earn a B.Mus in Guitar Performance and an M.Mus in Contemporary Music, giving me both performance experience and pedagogical knowledge. Over 8 years, I have taught learners of all ages, helping them develop technical skill, music theory understanding, and expressive performance abilities. My teaching emphasizes personalized instruction, creativity, and motivation, adapting lessons to each student’s style, goals, and pace. I prioritize combining technical exercises with expressive exploration. Students work on repertoire, improvisation, and performance coaching while developing confidence and independence. Lessons are structured to balance fun, challenge, and skill development, fostering both musical growth and personal satisfaction. Outside teaching, I perform, collaborate in ensembles, and study emerging musical trends. Teaching guitar is profoundly rewarding because I see students transform technical knowledge into expressive music, cultivating confidence, artistry, and a lifelong passion for their instrument.

Guitar lessons are most effective when students balance technical accuracy with expressive musicality. My sessions cover fingerstyle, chords, scales, music theory, improvisation, and performance techniques. Lessons are designed to gradually enhance technical proficiency while fostering creativity, ensuring students develop confidence and artistic expression. I provide exercises, repertoire, and performance coaching to help learners progress steadily and enjoyably.
Beginners focus on basic chords, strumming, finger positioning, and simple songs. Intermediate learners practice scales, fingerstyle techniques, improvisation, and more advanced repertoire. Advanced students refine technical precision, expressive phrasing, advanced improvisation, and performance skills for recitals, competitions, or professional work. Each lesson incorporates feedback, creative challenges, and guided practice to maximize growth.
Guitar lessons also enhance discipline, focus, creativity, and musical intuition. Students learn to interpret music, improvise thoughtfully, and perform with confidence. My goal is to inspire a lifelong connection to music while helping students achieve technical and artistic mastery.
