About Josie
My passion for guitar began as a teenager, captivated by the sound of strings that could express both calm and fire. Over eight years of teaching, I’ve had the privilege of guiding students through their own musical journeys—helping them find confidence and creativity through disciplined, joyful learning. Teaching guitar allows me to connect technical expertise with personal mentorship. I teach with patience, structure, and a deep respect for each student’s individuality. My lessons balance traditional skill-building with creative exploration, allowing learners to develop both accuracy and artistry. I encourage consistent practice but also freedom—to improvise, compose, and experiment with new styles. Beyond teaching, I perform, compose, and collaborate with other musicians to stay inspired and innovative. The guitar remains my lifelong companion—a tool for growth, reflection, and joy. Sharing this passion with students and watching them fall in love with music is what makes my teaching truly meaningful.

My guitar lessons are designed to help students find their rhythm—both musically and personally. I believe playing the guitar should be both expressive and empowering, combining technique with creativity. Lessons are carefully structured to make learning fun, motivating, and goal-oriented, helping students progress while enjoying the beauty of making music. Each class blends technical training with artistic interpretation, ensuring students feel inspired from the first chord.
Beginners start by learning basic chords, strumming patterns, and finger placement. Intermediate learners move toward scale mastery, rhythm coordination, and stylistic variety, while advanced students explore improvisation, soloing, and performance preparation. I incorporate music theory, ear training, and personalized song selections to keep lessons dynamic and engaging.
Guitar lessons are more than just learning an instrument—they’re about self-expression, confidence, and emotional release. Students develop both skill and identity as musicians, gaining independence and creative curiosity. Many of my learners have performed live, written their own songs, or discovered the therapeutic joy of daily practice. My goal is for every student to feel empowered by their music and proud of their unique sound.
