About Donald
Twenty years of gigging across the American South taught me that music happens best when shared with an audience. You are probably looking for someone who treats the guitar as an extension of the songwriter.
My BM Popular Music from Southern California gave me the formal foundation, but 13 years of actual stage time provided the real lessons. I spent decades playing acoustic sets in small venues where every note had to count.
Teaching began naturally when regulars at open mics asked how I managed to keep the rhythm and melody locked together. It has been a long road from those bars to this studio. I prefer a hands-on approach that values rhythm and raw sound over theory alone. Sometimes you just have to play until it feels right.

You can book a free trial session to assess your current level and see if we click. You will walk away from our first meeting with a clear plan for your progress. I emphasize strumming patterns and fingerpicking during our time together. Barre chords and power chords are essential, but we will focus on how they serve a song.
My 13 years of gigging inform every tip I provide on acoustic technique. I help kids and adults refine their songwriting craft during every session. We keep the energy high as we move through new shapes. You will find that playing becomes more intuitive the more we practice these patterns.
