About David

I am a professional cellist, educator, and online musician with a Master’s from Guildhall School of Music & Drama and performing experience with ensembles like Sinfonia Smith Square and London City Philharmonic. Coming from a family of professional musicians, I developed a deep passion for music early on—my mother was a cello teacher, and I have been immersed in music since childhood.

I have been teaching for over a decade, working with students of all levels, from beginners to advanced players preparing for exams or performances. Beyond private lessons, I have worked as a deputy cello teacher for Music Education Islington, taught with Tower Hamlets Music Service, taken part in education projects with Wigmore Hall, and worked with schools such as Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School.

Alongside my teaching and performance career, I also share my passion for music with a global audience through my online platforms, where I have over 100,000 combined followers across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.

I tailor lessons to each student’s goals, ensuring a structured yet flexible approach that balances strong technique, musicality, and enjoyment. Whether you are just starting or looking to refine your skills, I am committed to helping you progress and gain confidence in your playing.

About the lesson

I offer personalized cello lessons for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced players preparing for exams or performances. My approach adapts to each student’s goals, focusing on strong technique, musicality, and confidence-building while making learning engaging and enjoyable.

With over a decade of teaching experience, I have worked with students of all ages and backgrounds, including teaching at Music Education Islington, leading orchestral workshops with Wigmore Hall, and coaching in side-by-side projects with schools like Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School.

Lessons last for 60 minutes, and I encourage ensemble playing, performance opportunities, and tailored practice plans to help students progress effectively. Whether you're learning for fun or aiming for ABRSM exams, I keep things structured but always musical and adaptable to your pace.

I travel to you (Zones 1–3) for in-person lessons in London, and I also teach online worldwide. The 30-minute trial is a chance for us to meet, chat through your goals, and see if we’re a good fit before starting regular sessions.
